My client, a well-established Tier 1 supplier backed by private equity, is searching for an Operations/Production Manager to oversee key functions within their injection moulding and assembly operations.
In this role, you would lead a team responsible for all aspects of production, maintenance, and line supply logistics, across multiple shifts. They are particularly keen on someone with a strong Lean manufacturing background to drive efficiency and productivity improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Production Oversight: Manage the day-to-day operations of the manufacturing plant, ensuring production schedules are met and products are delivered on time.
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of production staff, ensuring adherence to safety standards and efficient work processes.
- Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve manufacturing processes to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance quality.
- Budget Management: Monitor production costs, optimize resource allocation, and contribute to budgeting and financial planning.
- Quality Control: Ensure compliance with quality control standards and drive initiatives to improve product quality.
- Health & Safety: Enforce health and safety protocols, ensuring a safe working environment for all employees.
- Reporting: Provide regular reports on production performance, KPIs, and operational challenges to senior management.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing, or related field. MBA or similar qualification is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a production or operations management role within the manufacturing industry. Experience in Private Equity is preferred.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead teams, drive performance, and foster a collaborative work environment.
- Technical Skills: Knowledge of manufacturing processes, lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and ERP systems. Familiarity with [specific machinery or technology] is a plus.
